Fimmtudaginn
9. september kl. 10.30, í stofu K201 mun Háskólinn á Akureyri og aðstandendur IMMI verkefnisins standa fyrir málþingi. IMMI snýst
um að Ísland skapi sér afgerandi lagalega sérstöðu varðandi vernd tjáningar- og upplýsingafrelsis. Þannig megi til dæmis
styðja betur við rannsóknarblaðamennsku, stuðla að gegnsæi og vinna gegn spillingu. Þingsályktunartillaga þar að lútandi var
einróma samþykkt á Alþingi þann 16. júní 2010. Málþingið fer fram í HA og er öllum opið.

“The IMMI initiative – Icelandic proposals for a new media law system and its impact on European and international regulations
The IMMI initiative in collaboration with the University of Akureyri organizes an international symposion on the new Icelandic initiative for a new internet media law. The Icelandic Modern Media Initiative (IMMI) is a legal project intended to create a supportive and attractive jurisdiction for the publication of investigative journalism and other threatened online media. It was adopted unanimously by the Icelandic parliament on 16 June 2010. In the symposion, the IMMI organizers will discuss the proposals with the Minister of Culture Katrin Jakobsdottir and experts of the University of Akureyri. The symposion is open for the public.
