The graduation ceremony is one of the biggest days in your life. The milestone has been reached and it is time to celebrate.
You register in Ugla for graduation in June and the registration period is from January to March.
Check whether you have met all requirements for graduating before registering.
At the graduation ceremony, you receive your graduate certificate and a transcript of your course history in Icelandic and English.
Take good care of the certificates because they are not reissued if they get lost.
You receive a Diploma Supplement along with your graduate certificate. The Diploma Supplement is in Icelandic and English. The Diploma Supplement is a description of the studies you have completed with a short description of the Icelandic higher education system and its structure.
You are generally asked to submit the Diploma Supplement when applying for admission to universities abroad.
The University of Akureyri was in 2012 awarded the Diploma Supplement Label (DS Label) from the European Commission.
Consequently the Diploma Supplement that students receive from the University at graduation is approved by the European Commission and is in accordance with their regulations.
The Diploma Supplement is intended to provide an objective description of the study completed at the University of Akureyri, improve international transparency and thus promote the recognition of the education provided by the University of Akureyri, with international institutions and in the job market.
