The University of Akureyri is in an especially beautiful location in the heart of Akureyri town. All teaching is carried out in one area and the buildings of the University are first class.

Office hours

• The reception is open from 8:00-16:00 on weekdays and hours of telephone service are from 9:00-15.30

The University of Akureyri is open from 7:30-21:30 on weekdays and from 9:00-17:00 on weekends. After that time, an access card can be used to enter the premises at the UNAK library and the side entrance at Miðborg.

The summer opening hours of the University start after spring semester examinations. During that time, the University is open from 8:00-16:00 on weekdays and closed on weekends. The summer closing of the University lasts for five weeks and starts in the second week of July. The University opens again after the Commerce Day (Frídagur verslunarmanna).

Facilities

All of the University’s operations are carried out in the campus area. Here are students’ reading facilities and group work rooms, as well as cafeteria, library, student counselling and physical fitness centre.

Students have access to lockers, photocopiers and computers.
