Christmas greetings from the University of Akureyri

The University of Akureyri is grateful for our cooperation and shared moments in the year that is ending. We look forward to seeing you in the new year.

Áslaug Ásgeirsdóttir, Rector, writes:

At the end of the year, it is customary to look back over the past year and highlight the good moments. What stands out most in my mind is my gratitude for being appointed as Rector and moving to Akureyri. After nearly six months as Rector, I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received. It has brought me joy to get to know the staff, students, and the operations of this dynamic university. We can all be proud of what we have achieved. We have seen a steady increase in the number of students, we have strengthened our research efforts, and our attention to study periods in Akureyri is paying off. Building on foundations will continue to strengthen us in the future.

On behalf of the University of Akureyri, I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas, and may 2025 bring joy and happiness.
