Romain will be Nansen Professor throughout the year 2025 and will conduct research in polar law studies as part of his duties.
The Nansen Professor is a visiting professorship in polar studies at the University of Akureyri. The position is named after Fridtjof Nansen, the renowned Norwegian polar researcher and humanist.
The position is awarded to an outstanding scientist working on issues related to legal, economic, social, and environmental conditions in the Arctic region.
